TCIA Foundation’s most popular event is back this year at TCIA’s Winter Management Conference – with a twist. This year, the Robert Felix Memorial Golf Tournament is transforming into the Robert Felix Memorial Fishing Tournament!

Anglers will be transported to Flamingo Marina (approx. 45 mins.) directly from our host hotel, and head offshore to experience some of the best fishing on the North Pacific Coast. Costa Rica is known for its offshore Bill Fishing and Game fishing.  We have reserved nine (9) center console boats, that each can accommodate up to five (5) anglers, and the morning will culminate with an Awards Ceremony reception, at the Oceana Restaurant right in the Marina, to celebrate the best catches.

This event is a continuation of the popular TCIAF Robert Felix Memorial Golf Tournament. By participating as an angler or sponsor, you’re directly supporting the TCIA Foundation’s mission to benefit the future of the tree care industry.

Cancellations are fully refundable until December 23, 2025. Cancellations received after December 23, 2025, will not receive a refund unless it sells out and TCIA can resell the spot.

Silently glide along Costa Rica’s Guanacaste’s Gold Coast while passing exotic bays, white sand beaches, and tropical jungles. Gaze off the bow of one of two catamarans with a cold tropical drink, prepared and served by our crew, as you scan the seas for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, or even a breaching whale.

The catamaran experience includes an open bar featuring national beer, cocktails, sodas, coffee, and water. A delicious lunch will be served around 3:30–4:00 PM, with BBQ chicken, yellow rice, refried beans, chips, pico de gallo, cookies, and fresh fruit.

This intimate event features a cocktail hour, with plenty of cliffside photos opportunities; a dinner open to the starlit sky, and the perfect setting for the live auction that you know and love.

Please note that this event features exceptionally limited seating, so please contact Amy to learn more and make your reservations early. Business or cocktail attire requested. Plan to arrive early for check-in and enjoy a beverage while you wait!

And don’t forget, this event helps us raise funds (through ticket sales and lively bidding) to keep commercial arboriculture on Washington’s priority list. Donations to VFT-PAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Contributions from foreign nationals, corporations, unions and minors are prohibited.

It may not be a separate event or tour, but TCIA wants to make it easy for you to network and enjoy! As such, save time at WMC and pre-purchase drink tickets for WMC social events! Please note: Each WMC registration receives two complementary drink tickets for the Welcome Celebration (Monday) and two drink tickets for the Farewell BBQ (Friday).

A complimentary shuttle will run between the host hotel and the meeting location on the following schedule:

Wednesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 5
Hotel to Meeting Location: Departs every 30 minutes, 2:00 PM–7:30 PM
Meeting Location to Hotel: Departs every 30 minutes, 4:00 PM–10:00 PM

Important Notes

Shuttle service is for registered WMC attendees only. You must show your badge for boarding each way.

Space is limited — TCIA recommends that smaller parties use the shuttle to help accommodate all attendees.

Ride-share services (e.g., Uber/Lyft) will not be available in this area; please plan to use the shuttle accordingly.
